Korea Trip - Intro

The fateful trip to Korea to celebrate the holidays began on Dis 23rd. Touchdown was around evening so we only arrived at the hostel around 9pm! This means we actually only have 5 days in Seoul, cos we depart on the 29th. Is there enough time to checkout the sights, eat all the yummy food and shop till our hearts content?

Of course! Checkout members in action at various location for a preview of wat we did in Korea.
Total members 12. 10 girls and 2 boys. Forsee lots of shopping going on...

1) We watched Nanta. Super cool show. Its so different, words cannot describe it. Closes would be Korean Broadway with lots of cooking involved. Super funny. It made me laugh so much, my stomach ached.
Vincent and Xin Ning (unofficial couple of the trip)

2) We went to palace. See I found a lotus.
Joyce (me twas named little red riding hood -_-)

3)We ate a LOT. Many different kinds of things, at all places imaginable.
TangYii and Pik Yee ( Foooddddddd!!!)

4) We went to palace again.
Chi Wern (the vampire werewolf)

5) Its Christmas day and the Metro is packed! This is when the Chinese proverb "People mountain people sea" would not be out of place.
Kelly (phew...I survived :D )

6) After lots of walking and shopping, why not relax with some massage therapy?
Kai Ning (im being bullied! Help!) and May Ching (ahhh....)
7) Gifts exchange to spread the Christmas cheer. :D
Wan Ying, Joceline, Pik Yee and Joann ( everyone say KimChi )
Ok. So thats the preview. After ploughing through all the photoes, I concluded that there is like a lot of stuff to write, and Im gonna end up with heartburn writing everything that went on, so Im going to split it into 3 categories. Food, Shopping and Stuff we did :D

So wait for it lor :P

Last post on Summer hols

Woohoo....after so many post on Summer hols, i`m still not finish yet. Muahaha....so i sumbat 3 in 1 lah. Hahaha...... and these are all short short recaps summore. :P

First up is Amanohashidate (天橋立). Its 日本三景 3 must see sceneries of Japan. Last yr went to Hiroshima`s Red Torii edi, this year hit Amanohashidate lah. To see wats the fuss bout looking at the stretch of land between ones legs. No bit deal also. I thought will get some revelation or something. Ceh, the only cool thing is that since the sky and both the sea is like separated in the middle by the land mass right, when u look at it terbalik also almost the same lor. Haha.....but quite interesting lah. Me and MC biked over to the other side from the eki. Quite nice lah biking. Can see the scenery better and get the feel of the place better. Found some dried crunchy seafood omiyage thingy there. I like it a lot man. V crunchy. Bought one pack for my family too and they said that its weird. Keke....wat to do i like weird stuff mah.

So here`s a pic of me doin peace sign while going up the lift thingy that someone refused to use cos kononya takut. Huh.... :P I think i gotta stop doing the peace sign thing lah. Looks to kiddish edi. Sigh.....im getting old.

Next is Wakasawan. Went there wif the foreign students from my kosen. It a really really beautiful place. So we should raise our hands and shoutout YEPPUDA!!!!! That`s according to Mc`s dao lah. Hehe...me is too paiseh to do this kind of stuff. :PPP
Met this korean gal - Hyun, who is studying in Maizuru kosen. She is sooooo korean, I keep pinching myself, cos she seems to have stepped out of a korean drama. Full of aaaaa......and ooooo...... in her sentences when she is thinking. Oooooo...... so cute. Learned some Korean phrases from her and chatted lots too. Hehe....me and MC kept pestering her bout Korean stuff. Muahkakaka...... and guess wat. She thinks Jang Geun Suk is handsome too. Muahahaha.....

Then there was boating. Wah, so teruk can die man. MayC, siting next to me kept groaning and saying that her arms wanna break edi. Manatahu halfway edi the guide baru tell us we both are sitting at the most zialat place. Sigh..... summore there was strong wind so the sea was kinda rough. Lucky me have strong arms. Muahaha.....There was this cool rock pool there too. I`ve always read bout rock pools , but never seen one so keng. So cool man. Saw this fish below eating another fish, right next to my bare foot!!! Keng , how nature is that. Muahahaha.....Got sea anemone also. Will unfurl its tentacles when its high tide, but now its closed. So cool.....
Top shell. So cool. In Malaysia, u can only find broken shells lor. This one is full shell complete wif its own inhabitant summore. I like this pic. Hahaha...... i curi -curi take one. Hyun is caught red handed digging her nose. Keke..... im so evil. Lots of ppl looking blur and some sleeping . And MayC`s expression, priceless.Group pic. Of course must have lah. This is at a nuclear power plant. Keke....
Next up is my trip wif me sis. Went to lots of places lah. Covered quite a lot in one week me thinks. Lots of catching up and poking fun at each other also. Not bad lah, but my poor sis said that i travel way too tough and that i was torturing her with whole day long walking and traveling in buses and trains. Kekeke........and i thought i was kind, cos i cut out some places edi. Muahahaha.......someone`s getting old.

In Kyoto, leaves are turning color edi. Sigh.....so beautiful. Must must go somewhere to see 紅葉 this year.
FINALLY went to Kaminarimon.Disneysea again!! Keke....... got scared out of my wits at the Journey to the center of the earth ride. 1st time steady nia dunno why 2nd time takut pula. Man im weird. And i got to see Ariel`s Show again! Muahaha........ i remembered thinking to myself i must go back again to see it again no matter wat. Mana tahu one year on already can see. Keke... love it man. Should i say i wanna go and see it again?? Hahaha.......

So like that lah. Summer trip. Sigh......did so many things man. So cool. Totally worth every single yen spend. And i think i`ve traveled to an extend that its no longer about the main sights to see, or the must do`s at whatever place im at. The checklists are like a rough guide, the things that stick closer to the heart and remain in our memories are the little stuff that happens. Like a nice chat wif a total stranger, or a shared laugh, a kind gesture, getting lost and finding a totally cool new place that`s not in any guide books. Those are the real gems of traveling i think. And best of all. One can learn a lot about yourself and others while traveling.

In short, i`ve had a real blast during summer, found a new direction to take wif my life, got a well earned rest to pump up energy for sch. Haha......

so like that lah. Now its SCH sch Sch......but wait till winter. Then i shall have my Korean trip. Muahahaha........ :DDD

Asahiyama Zoo

Big zoo. Not bad, really. Nice enclosures. But really, there is some serious double standards going on there. The exhibits with animals that are considered more "cute" are significantly better than others. More interactive, bigger, cleaner, newer!!! How about the others? Its not a freaking circus act. At least give the others cleaner habitats to live in. But who am i to say, huh. Still, and im still not decided on the zoo thingy. Sigh....

Anyway, negativities aside, the animals there are super duper posers. They photograph so well its almost as if they had lessons on it. You just have to aim and wait awhile before one of them gives you a real good pose and all you have to do is snap. The award of best posers would go to the penguins of course. Underwater or on land, they have it in their belts. And i really like this duck. Well, there was a few of them there, real cute. But poor things, really, getting gawked at everyday is certainly not a good way to live.
After one too many animals, I started to get bored. Till I saw this. Woohoo...... Homo Sapiens on exhibit. This zoo is cool after all. Hmm...... i wonder what their tag would be like?

Furano

One word. Gorgeous. Serious. One look from the windowsill of our room and i was hooked. Moreover, imagine this at night, with gazillion stars scattered in the inky night sky and soft city lights blinking in the background. Simply marvelous.
Best tempura set i`ve ever eaten
Molested a fake cow.
Made MC molest a fake cow.
Lavender not flowering....

But what the heck, i got the yummy ice-cream. :DDDDDDNice witch statue.Got lots of manhole pics. And lots lots more. Really, its real nice. I am so not doing it justice with so few words. But hey, all the more to find out when you go there right?

P/s: Its real nice to rent a bike and go cycling there. Total countryside experience.

Sapporo

Im just gonna go ahead and be evil and say that this place is a lousy place to go sight seeing. Maybe its just me, but i only found the shopping around the train station something to get excited about. The rest is kinda blah... so kill me.

Nice slope. :)
Clock Tower. A total tourist trap. Simply grab some old building, hype up the history, restore it and make it more beautiful then charge ppl for going in to view it. Malaysia should do more of this. :D

Nijo Market place. Sells lots of crab. But beware, if you look to earnest at the crabs and start discussing in front of any stalls, you might get more then what you bargained for. Example:

J: Hey M, the crabs here are real big huh...
M: Yep, wah! Look at that one. It`s hairy la....
J: Wooo......cool. Snow crab izzit?
M: Dunno......(peers at label).....wah....price not bad worh.
J: Izzit? (looks intently at price label).....
Crabseller: Hi......*smiles* looks expectantly at M and J
M and J: Oh oh....... (how do we get out of this???)....
Crabseller: *Scuttles away*
M and J: *Looks at each other* How liaw??
Crabseller: *Punches some numbers into the calculator* .....
M and J: *looks at the numbers* Gulp.......

Due to our powers of great deception, we got of scot free and even got a free sampling of fresh raw crab. Not bad huh. :DDDDD See...... i did not cheat you one. Got lots of crab right.Huge ass crab.

Ramen street. Its smaller than what i expected. And the ramen is not that great. So much for the anticipation. :( Good thing the two strips of crab in it saved the day.
