Petition for better Wild life law in Malaysia.

Just read on Kinkybluefairy about a petition for better wild life law in Malaysia. Being a total animal lover and supporter of the environment, I had just had to stop everything that I am doing to do a post about this.

Laws regarding the care and handling of animals in Malaysia are lousy, we all know that. There are one too many loop holes that leads to horrid cases of domestic animal abuse and the poaching of wild ones in the jungles of Malaysia. Mutilation and death are a list of extremes animals face daily in the hands of humans. More so in Malaysia, where the population generally could care less about the fates of this creatures. To know more bout em wildlife *click* this. Now is high time for change, with the petition already in place, all we have to do is sign it. According to The Star there are already more than 6000 signatures collected. There is one online too. And I was the 1220th person to sign it. Do your part for Malaysian Wildlife. Sign it *here* .

The first time I realized how bad humans could actually treat animals was in Secondary sch, when the local SPCA held an exhibition on animal cruelty. There was a picture of this poor dog with its upper jaw torn of by its owner, leaving the poor thing with a gaping mouth, unable to eat. The reason? Because the dog was barking too much. It brought tears to my eyes, how could humans be so evil? Animals have feelings, emotions and needs just like us. Just because we had an evolutionary leap, it does not give us the right to abuse creatures lower on the food chain.

And don`t get me started on the suffering livestock face in meat factories, its so bad I go on sporadic periods as a vegetarian. Sometimes, I just don`t understand mankind. How could we do this to the earth and ultimately to ourselves as well? We are literally poisoning and driving earth into a wasteland by excreting waste and pollutants after pillaging the earth, driving flora and fauna into extinction by clearing land for cultivation and totally reshaping the landscape into an urban forest of concrete and steel at the same time, and all this for what? Money? Progress? At what cost? We are dooming ourselves by digging our own grave.

I used to think that I cannot do anything. After all, I am just me, one person. But I know better now. It all adds up if everyone chips in and help out. Just like this petition, every single vote counts. By adding it all up, we can change how things are.

So sign the petition everyone! And post it up in your blog too, so the news spreads.

Together we can make a difference.
